At the Arlington County Community Services Board, the Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) promotes independent living in the community for persons with the most severe and persistent behavioral health disorders. A multidisciplinary team provides services 24 hours per day, seven days per week. All services are geared toward increasing tenure in the community, stabilizing psychiatric symptoms and improving the quality of life for identified high need, high risk consumers.
Community mental health services provided by the PACT Team are:
- 24-hour, 365-day-a-year services,
- Intensive case management,
- Mobile outreach and home visits,
- Psychiatric and nursing services,
- Residential skill training and supports including budgeting, grocery shopping, transportation, activities of daily living, housekeeping, social skills development,
- Substance abuse assessment and treatment,
- Employment assistance,
- Crisis intervention,
- Short-term, focused therapy and supportive counseling.
