Recovery Community Center

At New River Valley Community Services, the Recovery Center is a community-based program that offers Psycho-Social Rehabilitative (PSR) services to adults diagnosed with major behavioral health disorders. Located in Pulaski, the program serves individuals from throughout the New River Valley.

The program incorporates structured PSR groups in various formats that offer wellness and recovery education and planning, daily community access opportunities, socialization and recreation activities and special events. A “drop-in” option is available for participants who choose to attend the center without necessarily participating in formal groups, but who otherwise benefit from socialization or accessing center resources.

The Recovery Center’s groups and activities place a concentrated emphasis on the Recovery Model, which empowers individuals with the responsibility of discovering and following their own pathway to healing – including pursuit of their own identified goals. The program takes a holistic view of wellness, promoting well-being in the spheres of emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, occupational, financial and environmental life.
