Skilled Nursing and Social Work, Twin County Regional Home Health

Twin County Regional Home Health provides quality nursing services for patient care in the home. A sample of some skilled services provided are administration of IV therapy, IV antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, intromuscular injections, blood transfusions, pain management, arterial blood gases, sterile urine collection, ostomy care, administration of tube feedings, tracheostomy, suctioning, respiratory monitoring and ventilator care. Nurses also do patient and family education about diabetes, medications, exercises, skin care and prevention of skin breakdown, dressing changes, ostomy care, etc.



Medical Social Services, provided by a qualified social worker, help the patient and family adjust to illness and treatments and to refer patient to community resources when appropriate. Services include:

• Assessing the patient's ability to cope with medical, emotional, and environmental problems related to illness and recovery.
• Helping the family understand and accept the services required to aid patient recovery.
• Assisting members of the health team in understanding significant social and emotional factors relating to health and treatment problems.
• Coordinating available community resources as needed.
• Assisting with Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney.

 Telehealth is a personal, in home, daily information link between a home health patients and Twin County Regional Home Health. Service includes:

• Provides important healthcare information on a daily basis from the patient to Home Health through the Health Buddy appliance.
• Easy and convenient for the patient to answer a services of simple questions about their health status, via a toll free number the information is transmitted to the Home Health team and evaluated
