Who We Are
Carilion Mental Health - New River Valley is a 36-bed facility on the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center campus is staffed by psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and therapists who offer inpatient and outpatient treatment treat for adult patients in a comfortable and secure environment. Treatment plans may include group, family and individual sessions. Inpatient programs include individual therapy, medication and group activities including cognitive and behavioral skills, skill-building and education groups.

Intake Process
Call for an assessment. CONNECT is a confidential, 24-hour emergency evaluation and referral service provided by Carilion Clinic to members of our community. CONNECT is staffed by psychiatric nurses and clinical social workers trained to help people access psychiatric and behavioral medicine support. CONNECT Services are available 24 hours every day for emergency evaluation and referrals by calling (540) 981-8181 or (800) 284-8898. CONNECT can perform emergency mental health evaluations at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center during normal business hours and at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital 24 hours a day.
