Who We Are
Alexandria Community Services Board (CSB) provides substance abuse outpatient services for adults. Services include:
- Individual, group, and family counseling
- Psychiatric care
- Dual diagnosis programs (co-occurring mental health and substance abuse problems)
- Support groups
- Detox support 24 hours a day for people who are intoxicated or in withdrawal from drugs or alcohol and do not require hospital care
- Methadone treatment for persons addicted to certain narcotics
- Case management to help access and coordinate services
- Residential programs including group homes
- Day support programs
- Confidential testing for HIV, tuberculosis, and hepatitis
Services are available to residents of the City of Alexandria. To schedule an appointment, call 703-746-3400 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Ask to speak with an intake worker. The intake worker will assist you in scheduling an appointment.
If you need detox services, call 703-746-3636 anytime and ask to speak to a counselor about entering the detox program. if you are actively using drugs or alcohol and are seeking treatment, you may detoxify before beginning treatment. A hearing-impaired person may use the TTY line at 703-746-3584 (24 hours a day).
