Intellectual Disabilities

Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Service Board has 6 group homes throughout Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Homes consist of four or five individuals with intellectual disabilities, as well as the highly trained staff who support their needs. Each group home provides 24-hour supervision, assistance, and training to residents.



Group homes provide congregate living arrangements to a small group of adults with recognized developmental disabilities.  Consumers receive primary care, which is comprised of a room, board, and general supervision. In addition, they receive assistance training, and specialized supervision according to their individual support needs and preferences. Each resident is encouraged to be as independent as possible with daily living activities, hopefully, to achieve an improved quality of life through integration in community activities.
