Who We Are

Dial-A-Ride is a program of Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, Inc. (CVACL). The service provides individuals over 60 years of age transportation to medical appointments, dialysis, physical therapy, counseling, pharmacies, and grocery stores.  Please request a ride at least 2 business days before the appointment. If you have Medicaid, please call to see if you are eligible.

The service is provided on a first come first serve basis between the hours of 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Currently, no “On Demand” transportation is available. Those needing medical emergency transportation should call 9-1-1. When CVACL offices are closed for holidays or inclement weather transportation is not available. Wheelchair-accessible vans are available. This is a fee-for-service program. Income and medical expenses are taken into consideration.

Intake Process
Call the office for information and visit the website. All rides should be scheduled a week in advance or at the minimum 3 business days in advance. Your appointment must be between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
