Who We Are
The Shepherd’s Center of Fairfax-Burke offers a companion shopping trip to clients over 50 years of age who no longer drive. Trips are scheduled Tuesday afternoons or Friday mornings and follow similar procedures as those for medical drives, except five days notice is preferred and trips are restricted to within the center boundaries (Fairfax and Burke). There is no charge levied for the service and those clients with physical disabilities are escorted through the aisles of the store for assistance with high shelves and low carts. Clients can be taken to a variety of destinations other than stores, such as the bank, the hairdresser, or the library.
