Who We Are
The Virginia Workforce Center (VWC) is a one-stop concept to provide local businesses and all citizens with employment, job training, support services, and more.
- Workforce Center offers job search and placement assistance, universal job search through the internet, resume preparation assistance, initial skills and interest assessments, and supportive services information and referral.
- The resource room is available for use by ALL citizens and employers. Available resources include: computers with internet access for use, posted classified ad and job openings, fax and copying services, notary public services, workspace and phone access, information on educational and training opportunities, case manager and more.
- Training programs are provided. Depending on program qualifications, training may be provided as follows: In-depth assessment of skills, Knowledge, & goals, On-the-job training, Occupational skills training, Adult education and literacy, Identification of training needs, Coordination of training development and more.
- The VWC provides supportive services necessary to obtain and/or maintain employment. These services--case management, day care assistance, job coaching and transportation--are tied to eligibility criteria and dependent on available funding.
