Blacksburg Transit (BT) provides fixed-route bus service for the town of Blacksburg, Virginia Tech's campus, Christiansburg and parts of Montgomery County. Major stops include Blacksburg, Squires Student Center, Burruss Hall, LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, New River Valley Mall, Corporate Research Center, Gables Shopping Center, Hethwood and University Mall. The maps, schedules, fares and passes information for the Blacksburg buses and Christiansburg buses can be viewed at the website. Every vehicle in the fleet has a bike rake and can hold up to two bikes at a time.
In Blacksburg, all vehicles are fully ADA accessible. BT also offers a transportation service called Access for individuals that due to physical disabilities are unable to use the traditional bus system.
Two services are available in Christiansburg, the Explorer and demand response Go Anywhere. In Christiansburg, the Explorer route is a traditional scheduled bus stop system. The Go Anywhere service, which also operates in town limits, is a call ahead reservation based service that can pick riders up at a safe location of their choice.
To travel from Christiansburg to Blacksburg for work, Blacksburg Transit provides weekday commuter service. The Two Town Trolley is the route that connects Blacksburg and Christiansburg. The trolley provides service from Campus through the downtown area in Blacksburg to the Hospital, New River Valley Mall and Wal-mart. Service includes thirteen fixed routes plus a retirement community- hospital service for Tuesday and Wednesday.
