Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)

Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) is a consumer education and information program. Volunteers are recruited and trained to provide presentations and outreach to empower seniors to protect, detect and report health care fraud, waste and error. Virginia SMP utilizes the Area Agencies on Aging network throughout the state of Virginia (both staff and volunteers) to reach its goals.



Consumers, beneficiaries and caregivers can call toll-free, 1-800-938-8885 to report healthcare fraud complaints, or seek assistance. Interested volunteers should call Marly Flores, Program Director at 804-644-5628. Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A) operates Virginia SMP with the support of a grant from the Administration on Aging, Department of Health and Human Services.
