Who We Are
Transportation to medical appointments is available. The Shepherd’s Center of Annandale Springfield/ACCA Transportation Program offers rides to medical appointments to clients aged 50 and older using volunteer drivers. ACCA also offers rides to medical appointments for needy clients under age 50 who are referred to us by our member churches or other organizations.
This program provides rides for older adults and others in the area to and from non-emergency medical appointments Monday through Friday. The volunteer drivers remain with their clients, returning them home after the appointment has ended. All clients are screened and referred by social service agencies, and ACCA provides liability insurance for drivers.
To volunteer to become a driver, and for persons 50 or older who need rides for medical transportation, contact the SCAS office at (703) 941-1419 or email shepherdscas@vacoxmail.com.
For information on the combined program or rides for younger clients, contact Gail Coleman, Chair of ACCA Transportation Committee at (703) 354-0656 or email transportation@accacares.org.
Persons under age 50 should contact the Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning office at (703) 222-0880.
