Who We Are
Low vision refers to vision loss that cannot be corrected with conventional glasses or contacts, surgery or medication. Low vision affects people of all ages and backgrounds. A low vision evaluation is performed to determine which devices can best improve or assist low vision.
Low vision is still usable vision. Doctors of optometry at Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind (CLB) offer adaptive aids and techniques to enhance low vision. Through special testing techniques, the best device to improve vision can be determined: special lenses, prisms, magnifiers, telescopic devices, glare filters and electronic devices, light filters or other enhanced devices.
Low vision evaluations take place in Maryland and DC. Bus Line: Metrobus.
