Who We Are

The Library and Resource Center provides a local library for the visually, physically handicapped, hearing impaired and reading disabled, with materials available in tape cassette, Braille, and large print. There are 8 affiliated sub regional libraries located in public libraries in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Roanoke, Staunton and Virginia Beach. Assistive Device: Braille embosser; Braille writer; closed-circuit TV; hard-copy large-print device; magnifier; optical character reader.



Special Services: Also provides Children's books and offers a children's summer reading program.



Publication: Patron newsletter.

Additional hours: 1:00PM-5:00PM, Sun; (Sept-May only).

Affiliation: Provides coordination for the Virginia State Library for the Visually and Physically Handicapped.
