Who We Are

The Chesterfield County Mental Health Support Services (CCMHSS) offers Emergency Behavioral Health Services. The staff are specialists that assist individuals who are having serious, life-threatening behavioral health problems. Immediate attention is given to problem solving, safety planning and assessing risk factors. Staff evaluate the risk of potential harm to oneself, others, or the inability to care for oneself as a result of a serious behavioral health needs. In addition, staff access whether an individual requires immediate psychiatric hospitalization. Emergency Services staff provide information and recommendations to callers on how to de-escalate crisis situations. As needed, Emergency Services staff also refer individuals to other agencies or community services for additional support
