Substance Abuse & Detoxification | The Center for Dual Treatment

The Recovery Place, now known as the Center for Dual Treatment, is a Dual Diagnosis/Addiction program including a clinical therapeutic environment, freestanding medical detoxification, as well as a rehabilitation program.

 

Individuals with Dual Diagnosis suffer from a mental health disorder and a substance abuse issue. Patients in the Center for Dual Treatment receive the tools and education they need to live a chemical-free and mentally stable life. It is the first step in the life-long process of recovery.



The 12-Step model of recovery is emphasized.  Several program tracks are offered allowing persons in different phases of recovery to gain education and insight into their addiction.



After leaving the program, each patient is encouraged to participate on an outpatient basis through Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center's free weekly Aftercare and Multi-Family programs. A partial-day substance abuse program is offered to those patients who feel they need more support without staying in the hospital.
