Who We Are
Granby House is a Section 8 rent subsidy apartment complex for the elderly or individuals with disabilities. Granby House offers one-bedroom apartments and will accept those who are under 62 years of age, if they are handicapped or disabled. Otherwise the age requirement is 62 years of age.
Rent includes electricity; apartments offer carpet and can accommodate wheelchairs. All baths have grab bars for tub and toilet. Of the 154 apartments, there are 8 specifically built for handicapped.
Each resident must pay 30% of monthly income for contribution toward rent; 30% for new residents; balance of rent is subsidized by U.S. Housing and Urban Development. Granby House is an apartment complex for the elderly and handicapped; it is not a nursing home. At present, there is a waiting list for an apartment.
