Who We Are
Tidewater EMS Council was incorporated in 1974 as a non-profit private organization for the purpose of developing and implementing an efficient and effective regional EMS delivery system. The council integrates and coordinates resources to ensure rapid response and expert patient care, as well as coordination between more than 70 local EMS agencies and 12 hospitals.
Provides referrals to sources of emergency medical training, referrals for career and volunteer opportunities in EMS field; provides public information and speakers bureau on emergency medical topics.
The Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System (HRMMRS) is a division of Homeland Security program charged with developing and maintaining plans to respond to a mass casualty event. MMRS provides funding to jurisdictions to support the integration of emergency management, health and medical systems into a coordinated response to mass casualty incidents caused by any hazard.
