The services at Mountain House provide pre-vocational training, independent living skills, socialization, and recreational activities provided in a member-operated psychosocial rehabilitation program to persons who have psychiatric disabilities. Education and support to families of adults with serious mental illness is provided using the Mutual Education Support and Advocacy (MESA) curriculum.
Coordination and consultation for church-sponsored Social Clubs, which provide opportunities for fun and community integration to adults with serious mental illness and/or intellectual disability (mental retardation).

Intake Process
Call the Access Center or walk in at The Burrell Center, located at 611 McDowell Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia 24016. Children and youth may walk-in for screening without an appointment between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. There are extended walk-in hours for children and youth intakes on Tuesdays until 4:30 PM. The children and youth entrance to the Access Center is on the left side of the main Burrell Center building, highlighted by a Children’s Access Center sign. The adult entrance remains through the main Burrell doors in the center of the building.
