Insurance Counseling Referral, VICAP and Medicare Part D

The Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), Office for Aging Services, Division for Community Living  (DARS) offers through local Area Agencies on Aging insurance counselors to assist older persons and their families with Medicare, Medicaid, and health and long-term care insurance questions. The Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) uses trained and certified volunteer counselors located in the local communities who can provide counseling and assistance to older citizens who are confused about Medicare or Medicaid billing issues or about supplemental or long-term insurance options.
