Who We Are
The Halifax County Health Department investigates disease outbreaks, provides immunizations and medications as indicated, and provides education to maintain the health of the public. The following services are offered for HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), and Tuberculosis (TB).
- HIV services include testing and counseling free of charge. HIV medication assistance program (ADAP) services are available if eligible. Services are confidential but not anonymous for testing. For an anonymous testing site in the area, contact the Health Department.
- TB services include Tuberculosis counseling and education, risk assessment, and possible testing. Medications may be available if indicated.
- STD services include clinical exams, lab work and counseling. Information on all STDs is available. Condoms are free of charge.
