The New Kent County Health Department has Environmental Health Specialists working with local, state, and federal agencies to protect the community’s health and the environment. These professionals work to reduce the risk of foodborne illness outbreaks by conducting restaurant inspections, protect ground and surface water through a permitting process, prevent and control rabies in collaboration with local county animal control officers, and refer citizens to informational resources.
