Who We Are
Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA) provides fully accessible fixed-route buses on all routes for all our customers. These buses kneel to the ground making the first step easier and safer to use. The buses have integrated ramps in the entryway to provide a smooth transition into the bus and a flat floor to the seat. The buses provide up to two wheelchair spaces to be properly secured to the bus for a safe ride. The Trolley and smaller Body-on-Chassis buses offer a wheelchair lift providing a flat transition into the buses with space for up to two wheelchairs. ADA Paratransit Application can be found online.
Williamsburg Area Transit Authority provides a shared-ride Paratransit service to those individuals who are unable to use the fully accessible fixed-route buses. This is a shared-ride door-to-door transit service provided in a service area including 3/4 of a mile from all the regular bus routes. Trips for all individuals must be scheduled on a first come first served basis at least one business day in advance.
