Are You A Grandparent Raising A Grandchild? Or Other Kin Raising a Relative’s Child?
Come join the Caring for Kin Group at Virginia Cooperative Extension! The group does the following:
- Meet at 10 am on the first Thursday of the month from September 2024 - June 2025
- Share experiences and provide support to one another
- Share community resources (i.e., legal, public assistance, respite, educational, housing, faith-based etc.) that benefit the whole family
- Participate in intergenerational recreation outings during the summer
- Offer additional support through virtual, evening, and Grandfamilies Ambassador programs
Want to become a Grandfamilies Ambassador?
The Caring for Kin Group is seeking additional Grandfamilies Ambassadors. If you have been raising your grandchild or a child of a relative for a few years, please get in touch with us about our stipend ambassadors’ program.
