Who We Are
The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health (VBDPH) offers a medication room on-site to provide medications at a reduced cost or no cost for clients seen in the clinics. Prescriptions are not accepted from clinicians outside of the health department. Tylenol drops and Tylenol elixir are available for purchase at a reduced cost for children receiving immunizations on the day the immunizations are received. Condoms are available for purchase at 12 for $1.20. You do not have to be a health department patient to buy condoms.
The VBDPH serves as an Virginia Medical Assistance Program (VA MAP) drug pick-up site. You do not have to be a patient at the health department to pick-up medications here. You must have been approved for medications under the VA MAP program and designated VBDPH as your pick-up site.
VA MAP also covers certain immunizations. The patient must be approved for VA MAP and must a have a prescription from their physician for the immunization(s) they are to receive.
