Who We Are

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program in Virginia provides transportation assistance to eligible families. TANF offers other services, such as job skills training and child care assistance.

The purpose of TANF is to assist needy families so that children may be cared for in their own homes or the home of relatives, end the dependence of needy parents on government benefits by promoting job preparation, and work, and encourage the formation and maintenance of two-parent families.

Call for more information about TANF eligibility.  To learn more about TANF, visit the Virginia Department of Social Services.
