Who We Are
Veterans Crisis Line offers a toll-free crisis line for Veterans. There are several ways to get help: text to 988, confidential chat online, or call 988, press 1.
Responders at the Veterans Crisis Line are specially trained and experienced in helping Veterans of all ages and circumstances. Some of the responders are Veterans themselves. The Veterans Crisis Line offers anonymous online chat services and in November 2011, a text-messaging service was added to provide another way for Veterans to connect with confidential, round-the-clock support.
Take a Veterans Self-Check Quiz A VA Chat Responder will review it and leave a personal response, usually within 10-20 minutes. You will not be asked to provide your name or any other information that identifies you. You will be assigned a unique identifying number called a "Reference Code".
