Access Services, Children and Families

A program of Horizon Behavioral Health, the Access Team is the first contact with Child and Family Services to present the problem or need for treatment. Assessment screenings are made by telephone or face to face or on a walk-in basis. Screenings are conducted by qualified behavioral health, developmental disability, and substance use professionals to determine eligibility and to make appropriate referrals in the community. Access Services provides the initial comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents who are eligible for services to determine the appropriate level of care. Referrals are then made to the appropriate services within the Child and Family Department.
