Who We Are
The Richmond City Health District has Resource Centers that offer a variety of clinical and community health services in Richmond’s public housing communities and in the Southwood Apartments. All services are available to anyone, and cost is based on a sliding scale. Resource Centers are staffed by teams of Community Health Workers (CHWs).
Clinical services include:
- STD/ STI / HIV screening and treatment
- Family planning services
- Chronic disease screening (obesity, blood pressure, diabetes)
- Cervical and annual breast exams
- Medical home and specialty referrals
- Medicaid/FAMIS referrals
Community services include:
- Community events
- Connections to health, economic, social, and educational resources
- Educational workshops
- Support groups
- Chronic disease management
