SFMNP, Farm Market Fresh for Seniors

The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) helps eligible seniors get fresh, nutritious locally-grown fruit, vegetables, and cut herbs. The program also supports local farmers and farmer's markets in Virginia.

The program is generally offered from May or June through September or October.  An application must be completed each year through this office to determine if you are eligible to participate. Participation is limited and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

If the application is approved, the individual will receive $45.00 worth of Farm Market Fresh for Seniors checks for that growing season. Each check is worth $5.00 and may be used to purchase fresh, locally grown fruit or vegetables or cut herbs from participating farmers.
