Who We Are
The Shepherd’s Center of Fairfax-Burke offers transportation to medical appointments. Drivers are scheduled five days every week to take older adults who do not drive to Hospitals or other medical appointments. The service is available free of charge to all clients over 50 years of age residing in Burke or Fairfax, although trips frequently go outside these boundaries to a regional hospital etc.
We are unable to accommodate wheelchairs, participants must be able to get into and out of a vehicle independently.
The office is staffed by a dispatcher every weekday morning and some afternoons. Backup answering machines ensure that no calls are missed. Ride requests are made by calling the office at least five business days ahead of the appointment.
