Who We Are
Supportive housing programs provide long-term housing with ongoing services for individuals or families with particular disability needs and who, without this opportunity for subsidized housing with supports, would likely be unable to maintain permanent housing. The programs are funded through HUD grants and funds raised from the community.
The following programs are available:
- Milestones and RISE (Reaching Independence through Support & Education): Long term supportive housing programs for families in which an adult member has a mental or cognitive disability. Case management services are provided. Residents pay 30% of income in rent.
- Safe Haven Programs: Provides permanent supportive housing for single adults who have serious and persistent mental health challenges, previously lived on the streets and were resistant to services. Max's Place and Susan's Place use a "housing first" approach.
- Housing First Apartments Program: provides scattered site apartments for previously chronically homeless adults. New Hope manages or owns the apartments and provides a referral to needed services in the community; provides drop-in visits to support the residents. Residents pay 30 percent of their income in rent.
- Gartlan House: permanent supportive housing for eight chronically homeless adult men. Residents are able to function well with only up to eight hours of on-site daily.
