Who We Are
Southside Community Services Board's semi-independent living program provides a progressive step in the continuum of care for individuals with developmental disability or developmental disability and behavioral health disorder.
Tenants must possess the following skills:
- perform basic activities of daily living (bathing, personal hygiene, grooming) with minimal to no assistance;
- some knowledge of money and money management skills;
- basic cooking skills;
- function in the mild to moderate range of developmental disability;
- if non-ambulatory, must demonstrate the ability to transfer independently;
- basic communication skills (clearly expressing needs);
- do not require 24-hour supervision;
- basic knowledge of health and safety issues, including medication compliance, and community resources;
- housekeeping skills.
