Environmental Health Services

The Portsmouth City Department of Health offers environmental health services.  The staff is responsible for administering environmental programs and services to reduce the incidence of environmental conditions which may adversely impact the health, safety and well being of the citizens of Portsmouth. Enforcement of applicable city and state statues and codes occurs through public education efforts as well as through legal actions. 

The staff Investigates complaints involving rodents, mosquitoes, sewage, lead, West Nile Virus and other environmental issues such as the surveillance of marinas and hotels, motels and spas.  Please visit the website for a complete list of services.
