Who We Are

Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) testing or evaluation is a multifaceted process. Symptoms of a child with ADD and ADHD may be similar to the symptoms exhibited by children with a biological or psychological problem such as anxiety, depression, learning disabilities etc. Thyroid dysfunctions, sleep deprivation etc. can also mimic ADHD. In some cases these other conditions may be the primary diagnosis; in others, these conditions may co-exist with ADD and ADHD. Diagnosing ADHD in teens presents a special challenge because the symptoms may resemble normal teen behavior or the typical adolescent issues.

Many adults also have been living with ADHD and do not recognize it because the symptoms are often mistaken for a stressful life. There are others who make a self-diagnosis after looking through some checklists on the Internet. It is extremely important to consult a qualified professional to make an accurate diagnosis.
