Who We Are

Western Tidewater Community Services Board (WTCSB) offers the Children's Mobile Crisis Program. The program is an emergency behavioral health service for children and adolescents under the age of 21. When a crisis arises in which the youth's behaviors, putting them at risk of hurting themselves or others or when a parent is not able to resolve the situation, Mobile Crisis Clinicians provide intervention in the home, at school or in the community. 

Mobile Clinicians complete the following services:

  • assesses the youth for immediate safety;
  • include the parent or guardian in treatment work with the client and family to de-escalate the crisis;
  • provide the family with appropriate referrals and contact information and as appropriate, complete an intake for behavioral health services;
  • help the family develop an individualized safety plan;
  • contact the individual's family for ongoing support to continually assess the client's safety for up to 15 days.

Regular business hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Emergency Services are available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Intake Process
Call for an intake and assessment appointment. Walk-ins accepted Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. Please bring proof of insurance and disability also.
