Inpatient Mental Health Services

Carilion Clinic Roanoke Memorial Hospital offers inpatient psychiatric units that provide diagnostic and treatment to those who have acute or chronic mental or emotional disturbances, require hospitalization for maximum benefit, and who might be a threat to themselves, to their families or to others if left in the community or placed in a less restrictive treatment setting.  For those under 18, Carilion also has a Child and Adolescent facility geared to younger individuals. The inpatient program may include the following:

• Medication therapy;
• Group therapy;
• Cognitive/behavioral skills groups;
• Education groups;
• Individual therapy;
• Skill-building groups.
