Environmental Health Services

The Chesapeake Health Department offers environmental health services to protect the health and safety of the citizens of Chesapeake. These services include inspection of food service establishments, permits for restaurants and food handlers, investigation of foodborne/waterborne illnesses, rabies clinic program, hotel/motel inspection, inspection of public spas and swimming pools; processes applications and permits for private wells, soil evaluation for septic systems and state sewage regulations enforcement; rodent/vector control; smoking ordinance enforcement and answering general environmental complaints.
