Meet the VirginiaNavigator Staff
Executive Director, Gerontologist, Initiative Manager, The Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving
A leader in Virginia’s aging network, Adrienne joined the VirginiaNavigator team in 2004 and has held various aging related positions in her career. As Executive Director, she works in partnership with the public, non-profit, and private sectors and is responsible for the development, marketing, board oversight and operational management of VirginiaNavigator. Prior to becoming Executive Director, Adrienne served as a member of the organization’s Leadership Team while performing her duties as Director of Website Operations. As Director of Website Operations, she was responsible for the oversight of the VirginiaNavigator and its Family of Websites and management of website content and data based on consumer needs and current issues in aging. Additionally, she has served as project and grant manager for several of VirginiaNavigator’s major initiatives.
Adrienne earned her Master’s degree in Gerontology with a concentration in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Connecticut. She serves on the board of the Virginia Quality Healthcare Network (VQHN); as Secretary of the Virginia Elder Rights Coalition (VERC); is on the VGEC Plenary Committee and the VCoA Advisory Committee as well as a host of other coalitions and committees serving the aging and disability communities throughout Virginia.
Director of Operations, Gerontologist
Katie began working for VirginiaNavigator while the site was still in development. As the Director of Operations, she is responsible for the oversight of the VirginiaNavigator Family of Websites and management of content and data based on consumer needs and current issues in aging, as well as the daily operations of the organization. Katie spent 23 years in the financial services industry before returning to school to earn her Masters in Gerontology from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University.
VeteransNavigator Specialist and Marketing Assistant
Jessica joined VirginiaNavigator in June of 2016 as the VeteransNavigator Project Manager. Jessica is passionate about helping our Veterans and her volunteer spirit is what drew her to Virginia Navigator. Some of her volunteer activities included previously serving as a family readiness group leader for the Fort Lee Bravo Company, 832nd Ordnance Battalion, and as the leader for Fort Lee Girl Scout Troop 5391. In addition, she held three positions in the Fort Lee Area Spouses’ Club, and was named the president for 2015-2016. She received the President’s Volunteer Service award for five years and was honored as Fort Lee’s Heroes at Home Military Spouse of the Year in 2015. At VirginiaNavigator, Jessica is responsible for assisting with our community outreach and marketing efforts for VirginiaNavigator’s Family of Websites as a whole, and continues to be very involved in the content featured specifically on VeteransNavigator and its promotion across the Commonwealth. Jessica holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resource Management and her passion is giving back to those less fortunate.
Teresa Lavinder Zeigler
Community Resource Specialist, Database Curator
Teresa joined the organization in 2014 and lives in Vinton, Virginia. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her work as a 2-1-1 Virginia Community Resource Specialist and with federal, state, and local disability and aging service agencies and programs. She enjoys serving caregivers, service providers, older adults and people with disabilities. She currently holds the CIRS and CRS-A/D certification given by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS). Teresa is in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at Hollins University.
Maggie joined VirginiaNavigator prior to launch in 2000 as one of the organization's first full-time employees. Maggie’s history with VirginiaNavigator provides a valuable perspective in understanding the evolution of the database. Maggie is responsible for entering, verifying and updating information both on-line and by phone and assists in educating providers how to input changes regularly. Maggie also answers the Help Line for consumers who need help finding services in their city or county. She previously served as billing clerk and bookkeeper. She attended the University of Mississippi and has completed several business and computer courses designed for non-profit agencies.
No Wrong Door Expansion Specialist and Special Projects Coordinator
Erika worked on the initial site development as a contractor and joined the team full-time in June 2001, four months after launch, with sixteen years experience as an Information Systems professional. In her original position of Web Administrator for VirginiaNavigator, she provided the back-end systems support for changes on the website, oversaw the technology contracts for server support, and was responsible for managing all web development. In her current role, Erika works on special projects and with private and non-profit providers on No Wrong Door -- a virtual single point of entry for accessing public and private health and human supports for older adults and people with disabilities in Virginia.
Alice joined the organization as a call specialist. Her primary focus is to assist those seeking assistance with finding local resources. Alice has over 15 years of experience in sales and training, predominantly in the pharmaceutical industry. In recent years she has been a community volunteer with several nonprofit organizations. She received a BA with honors from the University of New Hampshire.
Christa joined VirginiaNavigator in 2018 with experience in sales, training, and customer service. In her role as Project Coordinator, she assists with data management of VirginiaNavigator’s 26,000+ listings, staffs our call center to help connect people with local resources, and provides administrative support throughout the organization. Christa strives to grow by continuing to learn every day and appreciates the positive impact non-profits make on the community. A lover of the art of dance, Christa is also a dance teacher at a studio where she teaches young children, helping to instill that same love and passion in them. Christa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Community Outreach and Marketing Specialist
Bonnie joined VirginiaNavigator in 2004 and serves as the Community Outreach and Marketing Specialist and as the community specialist for Central and Southside Virginia and works with 7 local government partnerships. Bonnie has over 20 years of experience in sales, training, and relationship development. Before joining the organization, Bonnie had a proven record of success in marketing communications. Previously, as an independent business owner, she designed and implemented comprehensive incentive programs and facilitated training programs focused on career development and team-building. She graduated from Longwood College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and received her Elementary Education Teaching Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Director of Communications and Community Partnerships, VirginiaNavigator Project Coordinator, The Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving
Kim joined the VirginiaNavigator Team in the fall of 2003 after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mary Baldwin College, and currently serves as Director of Communications and Community Partnerships. In this role, she leads SeniorNavigator’s Community Team, overseeing all marketing outreach initiatives and public relations. She produces all written communication pieces, develops educational collateral, leads several of the organization’s partnership programs, assists with fund development, and coordinates special events. Additionally, Kim serves as Project Coordinator of the Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving, which is managed and led by VirginiaNavigator. Kim proudly serves on the Greater Richmond Age Wave Readiness Leadership Coalition and as a member of the coalition’s Business for Life Work Group – representing VirginiaNavigator and its Lindsay Institute.
Meet the Regional Community Specialists
Southwest Virginia (email Gloria)
Gloria joined VirginiaNavigator in 2019 and serves as our Community Specialist in Southwest Virginia. She brings with her vast experience and skills in customer service, administration, marketing, and relationship-building. Gloria spent 24 years in telecommunications as a training and marketing specialist and, most recently, worked in healthcare and hospice overseeing community events, assisting with memorial services and bereavement. A lifelong resident of Southwest Virginia, Gloria has forged solid community relationships and partnerships – professionally and personally – as well as through her volunteer work with the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, and conducting nursing home and children ministries special events. Gloria is passionate about assisting individuals and families navigate their way through the many services available to them. She attended Virginia Highlands College and Virginia Intermont College with a concentration on administration and website design.
Roanoke Valley-New River Valley (email Cindy)
Cindy joined VirginiaNavigator in January of 2019 as the Community Specialist for Southwest Virginia covering Alleghany, Bath, New River Valley, Roanoke, and surrounding counties. Cindy brings over twenty years of experience in sales, marketing, and operations from the healthcare industry. She has worked in long term care, hospice, assisted living, long term acute care and care giving. She graduated with honors from Bluefield College with a Bachelor in Organizational Management and holds an Associate degree in Mental Health from Virginia Western Community College. Cindy is responsible for nearly 60 Navigator Centers and one Local Government Partnership.

Bonnie joined VirginiaNavigator in 2004 and serves the local community specialist for Central and Southside Virginia. Bonnie has over 20 years of experience in sales, training, and relationship development. Before joining the organization, Bonnie had a proven record of success in marketing communications.
